Following the success of a gym we designed in Kathmandu, our client was inspired to replicate a similar experience in Dhangadi, a city with its unique climatic and cultural conditions. Recognizing the importance of adapting the design to this new environment, we embarked on a comprehensive research phase, starting with an on-site visit to Dhangadi. This allowed us to gather crucial information about the project site and the surrounding area.
Our approach was thorough and collaborative. We conducted detailed interviews with the client to understand their vision and expectations. Additionally, we engaged with potential customers to gain insights into their preferences and the specific needs of the local community. This research was essential in shaping a design that would not only meet the client’s expectations but also resonate with the end users.
The hot climate of Dhangadi was a significant factor in our design process. To ensure that the fitness space would be both comfortable and sustainable, we carefully analyzed sun path diagrams to optimize natural light while minimizing heat gain. We also studied weather station data to understand seasonal temperature variations and wind patterns. These analyses informed our decisions on building orientation, ventilation, and materials, all aimed at creating a space that would remain cool and inviting throughout the year.
The resulting design reflects a blend of functionality and aesthetics, tailored specifically for Dhangadi’s environment. By prioritizing customer comfort and energy efficiency, we succeeded in creating a fitness center that not only mirrors the quality of our Kathmandu project but also stands out for its suitability to the unique conditions of Dhangadi.
