In the bustling urban environment of Kathmandu, housing development and renovation are ongoing necessities. Mrs. Karmacharya approached us to renovate a floor in her home, which was originally designed and built 22 years ago. The renovation was driven by changes in lifestyle that necessitated updates to the space. After thorough discussions with Mrs. Karmacharya, we developed a program that addressed her needs while maintaining the home’s original aesthetics. A major challenge of this project was working within the constraints of the existing electrical and plumbing plans. Despite these challenges, we focused on seamlessly integrating the new design with the old, while also preparing a detailed BIM plan to ensure that any future renovations could be executed with greater ease and precision.
